'We complied': More North Side armed robberies reported CHICAGO — More armed robberies occurred on the North Side late Sunday night in a span of under an hour.The first of the four robberies happened at around 11 a.m. in the 900 block of West Armitage. Police said a 42-year-old woman was walking on the sidewalk when four males exited a white SUV and took her purse at gunpoint.Around 15 minutes later, a 31-year-old man was robbed of his cell phone and wallet in the 1700 block of West Hubbard. Driver pleads not guilty in Vermont crash that killed actor Treat Williams BENNINGTON, Vt. (AP) — A Vermont driver on Monday pleaded not guilty to a charge in the June crash that killed actor Treat Williams.Ryan Koss, 35, could be sentenced to up to 15 years in prison if he's convicted of gross negligent operation with death resulting.An investigation of the June 12 crash in Dorset concluded a vehicle pulled in front of Williams, who was riding a motorcycle and was unable to avoid a collision, Vermont State Police said.Koss was turning left into a parking lot in an Honda SUV when he collided with Williams’ oncoming motorcycle, police said. 'Production is going to be significantly lower'; Texas pecan farmer worries about heat, drought, prices SEGUIN, Texas (KXAN) -- At his farm 38 Pecans in Seguin, Mark Walls nervously inspects the 2,700 trees on his 500 acres of land. A vast majority are pecans, and dozens didn't make it.After a summer of brutal heat and drought, he's already found 59 mature trees that'll need to be removed, and another 38 trees younger than five years old that have died. Police: Troy man lit his own house on fire LANSINGBURGH, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Troy man was arrested in connection to Sunday's house fire. Blaise Lanni, 66, is charged with third-degree arson. Around 6 p.m. Sunday, Troy Fire personnel responded to 295 3rd Avenue in Lansingburgh for a reported structure fire. The fire was under control after hours of work, and no one was injured. Officers began their investigation and determined quickly the fire was suspicious. Police say they interviewed Lanni, the only resident of the house. Following their interview, police determined Lanni started the fire at his own house. Driver in fatal Treat Williams crash pleads not guilty Lanni was brought to an area hospital for a medical evaluation and was arrested after he was discharged. He was arraigned in Troy City Court and released to reappear at a later date.
